Privacy Policy

LegitChat (legitchat.io) is operated by Vince Major in Los Angeles, California. This policy covers our pre-launch waitlist signup form. We will update it when the LegitChat app launches.

What we collect

When you sign up for launch notifications, we collect:

• Your email address (you provide this)
• Your IP address and browser user-agent, logged automatically to prevent automated signups and spam
• The timestamp of your signup

That is everything. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics on this site.

Why we collect it

To send you one email when LegitChat launches. The IP and user-agent are used only for spam prevention and rate limiting.

What we do with it

You receive two emails from us:

• An immediate confirmation that you are on the list
• One announcement when LegitChat launches

We do not sell, rent, share, or trade your email address. We do not send marketing or promotional emails. We will not add you to any other lists.

Where it is stored

Your signup record is stored on Cloudflare Workers KV, a US-based edge data store. Emails are sent through Resend, a transactional email service. Both providers have their own privacy policies that govern how they handle data on our behalf.

How long we keep it

Your email is retained until you unsubscribe, or for a reasonable period after the launch announcement is sent. Unsubscribed records are flagged in our system and excluded from any future emails, but kept long enough to ensure we do not accidentally re-add you.

Your rights

Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. One click removes you from future emails.

• Request a copy of the data we have for you
• Request deletion of your data
• Ask any privacy-related question

If you are a California resident (CCPA/CPRA) or in the European Union or United Kingdom (GDPR), you have specific legal rights to access, correct, delete, and port your personal data. Email [email protected] to exercise any of these rights.

Children

LegitChat is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has signed up, contact us and we will delete the record.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes (such as adding analytics or sharing data with new partners) will be announced via email to subscribers before they take effect.
